UK Borough and County Councils
We undertake a lot of work for the Planning Departments of various Borough and County Councils around the UK.
It doesn't matter where their residents are from or if they are in the UK for the short, medium or long term their job is to provide them with professional services, whether related to housing, education, public transport, taxation, social services or emergency services. Councils have an impact upon almost every aspect of their resident's lives so they take their work very seriously indeed.
Many local areas in the UK have seen tens of thousands of immigrants move there over the past decade and around half are from Poland. They have chosen the UK to begin a new life and it's the Council's obligation to help them settle here as easily as possible. With so many speaking little English the use of translation and interpretation services has become common and is even becoming part of their strategic plans for the future.
78 International have translated many Council's Health and Safety regulations, something we have noticed is becoming imperative in all modern organisations, whether public or private. We also translate their contracts of employment so they can recruit more easily from their multi-cultural communities as well as translating all other important HR documents. Our helpful specialists have assisted them with marketing, for example, of community safety initiatives, and we regularly help public organisations with internal procedures where our discretion and sensitivity to the issues involved is always greatly appreciated.
We have also provided Councils with friendly, professional and experienced interpreters who have assisted with interviewing candidates for public sector jobs and even in disciplinary proceedings, again where diplomacy, tact and confidentiality have been essential.
Trans-Euro Estate Agents
Trans-Euro Estate Agents deal in properties to rent and buy throughout the UK and Europe, including France, Spain, Italy and Poland. They use 78 International's translation and interpretation services for all aspects of their business.
They have clients of all nationalities looking to rent or buy here in the UK and they pride themselves on giving a high level of customer service. Understandably, many of their clients have limited English so communicating the British processes and various contractual details can be frustrating for staff and clients alike. They don't like anyone to feel uncomfortable and they certainly don't like to lose business because of language barriers. As such, they use 78 International to translate their leaflets, brochures, contract information and even parts of their website into Polish. They also use our interpreters when it comes to finalising contracts and arranging move-in dates, etc. They choose teleconferencing where possible because it makes the process so much easier and quicker, and when their clients receive a good service they recommend them to their family and friends. This in turn brings them more business and as such offsets the cost of our services.
On the other hand, they have clients looking to invest in property abroad. In most of their branches they have staff fluent in French, Spanish and Italian so they deal with contacts in France, Spain and Italy. However, in recent years they have had many clients wanting to buy property in Poland to take advantage of the cheap real estate and unique business opportunities available there. Until they found 78 International they were largely unable to help however they now regularly buy and sell in Poland, and the process is actually quite easy because our staff can undertake full due diligence checks of properties, check the legal status and deal with contracts, etc.

We often deal with the Head Office of Pro Search Recruitment which has recruitment agencies throughout the UK. In recent years they have seen their customer base change dramatically with at least half of their clients now being from Poland.
Many speak good English which is great as they can place them quickly but even then the contracts can be hard to understand. As such, 78 International translates them into Polish as well as their information sheets, application forms and assignment fact sheets. This makes the whole recruitment process so much quicker and also eliminates problems when their Polish workers are out on assignment.
On the other hand, they have individual and groups of Poles visiting them every day in their branches who speak little or no English. They genuinely want to work and because the agency knows they are going to be good workers they are able to place them, however they have problems with communication. Agencies often work to targets so they need a quick turn around for each client and this is difficult when they speak little English. In these cases they also call upon 78 International for live interpreters as during interviews agency staff meet situations where clients just cannot grasp a crucial point of the contract or new job. Here, having an interpreter available is invaluable for them whether it's in person or by teleconference as it helps their client and therefore the agency itself. It's a win-win situation and the agency says the cost of such services is easily justified when they consider just how valuable their Polish workers are to them.

Jones & Harpers Solicitors have always accepted that translators and interpreters are needed in their profession but in recent years they have noticed that demand has sky rocketed. Daily they deal with clients and contacts whose first language is not English and many are Polish.

Increasingly, they call upon 78 International for live interpretation and because they are so busy it's often at short notice. Whether in their office, the courts, at other organisations or by teleconference we can help them. Where possible we provide them with teleconferencing because it's convenient. It's also cheaper because they don't pay for our interpreters travelling time and expenses, they just pay for the call itself. Also, they are easier to arrange. They simply provide contact details and available times, and 78 International does the rest and when they are really busy we record their teleconference, transcribe it and send it to them in an email. Before now we have even delivered printed copies to their desks!
With legal matters the use of near perfect language is essential if our clients are to give a good service and maintain professional relations with other organisations. Mistakes can be costly for everyone concerned and our clients believe it's simply not worth taking the risk, especially when 78 International translators and interpreters who specialise in law are available.
